Love Yourself (Self-Care)

Loving yourself and taking care of yourself (self-care) are major components when it comes to laying a solid foundation for transformation to take place.  Before transformation begins you must first love yourself and accept the things that you cannot change.

You might think, "Well, isn't transformation all about changing?"  My answer to that question is "YES!", but only for the things, you CAN change.  You can change your income.  You can change where you live.  You can change your clothes.  You can even change your mind or perspective about something.

But.....

You cannot change your past.  You cannot change your skin color, ethnicity, your background, or even what you did five minutes ago for that matter.  Loving yourself is about coming to terms with who you are and accepting everything you cannot change, including the unique qualities, quirkiness, and dorkiness, that makes up you.

Once you realize how extraordinary you are and that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you will then begin to appreciate yourself.  With this newfound appreciation, you can see yourself from a different perspective.  You can see yourself being loved unconditionally by YOU.

If you love something, you should take care of it.  The same thing applies here.  If you love yourself, then you should take care of yourself.  Here's a thought to ponder......How can you love and take care of someone else when you don't do that for yourself? (Hmmmm.)  It's very hard to love another when you don't love yourself.  It makes for a very stressful and unharmonious relationship in any aspect, parent to child, husband to wife, friend to friend, sibling to sibling, etc.

It's your responsibility to love and take care of yourself.  Self-care is not selfish.  It's a necessity.  It's about taking action upon yourself to preserve and protect your well-being.  Self-care is any activity that we do deliberately to invest in our mind, body, and soul. When we are more focused on our family, career, friends, church, or generally anything or anyone around us, we tend to overlook the person looking back at us in the mirror.  Self-care should be a daily commitment to our personal well-being.

We are all spiritual beings.  Our body is the house (the temple if you will) where our spiritual being resides.  Don't we owe it to ourselves to take care of it by taking care and loving ourselves first?
Good self-care is key to positive thinking, transforming from negative to positive, from a lower vibration to a higher vibration, and to reducing stress as well as anxiety. It's even beneficial when it comes to developing a happier and loving relationship with others and especially with yourself.

The bottom line is if you want to live a well-balanced, healthy, fulfilled, joyful, peaceful and all that other stuff that makes life good, then you need to LOVE yourself and commit to SELF-care.

When you love yourself and do self-care, you realized that you don't need or have the desire to be or feel validated as a human being.  Furthermore and most importantly, you do not care about what other people think or say about you.  You are living life to the fullest and loving it!!
