Have you ever embarked on a journey and at the first sign of difficulty you stopped and asked yourself - "What was I thinking?"
Or
You get this great idea that can possibly make all your dreams come true and began to think of so many creative ways that can make it work. Then, you stop and pause for a brief moment and the first thing that goes through your mind is...."WHAT WAS I THINKING?!? THIS CAN'T POSSIBLY WORK!"
Let me be the first to CONGRATULATE you on thinking. Most people don't think enough, instead, they focus on memorizing, which are two different things. Memorizing means to learn by heart and to study. Thinking means the action of using one's mind to produce thoughts.
Thinking is a skill that needs to be developed. When developed, it plays an important role in renewing your mind and becoming a positive thinker. In addition to that, the way you think defines how you learn, create, handle problems, regulate your emotions, reflect, assess, plan, organize and connect.
Thinking ignites the mind and set ideas and thoughts on fire. Ideas and thoughts can change the world for the better. Ideas and thoughts can change people's lives from ordinary to extraordinary. A paradigm shift can happen with one thought. The first step in the process of creating strategies, starting a business or a new venture is thinking.
"As a man or woman thinks, so is he." Having said that, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.” ― Henry Ford.
Thinking is a great power to possess. We are not talking about random stuff like "what to buy from the store?" or "what to cook for dinner?". We are talking about thinking on purpose and with intent.
Set time aside to think on purpose and with intent. Start with five to ten minutes at first. This will help you develop a habit of thinking, which may eventually become part of your daily routine. Make sure to keep a notebook and pen handy so you can jot down any idea or ideas that may come to mind.
Thinking on purpose and with intent:
*Generates fresh, new and innovative ideas
*Builds brain cells
*Organizes your thoughts
*Focuses on a plan or an idea
*Stimulates the mind
*Connect the dots (so that things can become clearer or make more sense)
When it comes to transforming for the better or personal development, thinking is key. Think about your goals and your dreams. Think about innovative ways or strategies that can motivate and inspire you to accomplish your goals and to make your dreams a reality.
“Five percent of the people think;
ten percent of the people think they think;
and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.”
― Thomas A. Edison
Ask yourself........What percentage are you a part of? If you don't know the answer, then do a self-examination. By 2020, make a decision on the kind of thinker you desire to be and what you hope to accomplish.
