5 Pillars of Strength Devotion - Peace

Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This verse is a reminder that no matter what is going on in our lives, God’s peace can help us stay focused on Him. In times of trouble, God’s peace will be there to protect us from fear and anxiety.

His peace can also help us find clarity in our decisions and the strength to move forward. No matter what the situation is, we can trust that God will provide us with a peace that surpasses understanding.

John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Peace is one of the most precious gifts that Jesus offers to us. It is a peace that goes beyond understanding and that can only be found in Him. In John 14:27, Jesus tells his disciples that He is leaving them with a peace that the world cannot give, a peace that is not dependent on external circumstances but that comes from within.

As Christians, we have the promise of the peace of God, which is the peace that comes from knowing that God is in control, that He loves us and that He has a plan for our lives. This peace is not something that we can achieve on our own, it is something that comes from the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

In a world that is often full of turmoil and chaos, it can be hard to find peace. But we can choose to focus on God and His promises, and to trust in Him. We can choose to give our worries and fears to Him, and to let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds.

Let us strive to have the peace of God, the peace that transcends all understanding and that can only be found in Jesus.  Let us, also, cling to this peace and find comfort in knowing that He is always there for us.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the peace that you give. Help us to trust in you, and to let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds. Give us the strength to give our worries and fears to you, and to find peace in you, in all circumstances. Amen.
